This site was created to provide ideas for teachers to use as part of lesson planning. It is a compilation of twelve ideas for learning stations to use within the classroom for a unit on mathematics. The lessons specifically address the learning area regarding geometric shapes for third graders, as outlined in the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) Section 3.14.
The links at the top of the page each navigate to a different learning station. Each page contains a description of the activity, skills/content area and object, materials list, assessments, and references to include links to other websites.
This site was created by me, Stephen Fritz, as part of the Teacher Licensure Program at the University of Richmond. In addition to a BA in Psychology/Neuroscience from Albion College, I have over seven years of experience working with children in educational settings to include two years as a preschool teacher and five years as a behavior counselor with at-risk youth in Richmond area elementary schools.
I hope all who read this site will find it informative and helpful. Please feel free to send comments or questions. Thanks.
