Station 7: Plane vs. Solid Geometric Figures
Skill Content: Identifying characteristics of plane & solid geometric figures.
Objective: Compare and contrast characteristics of plane and solid geometric figures to include sides, angles, face shape, number of faces, edges, vertices, angles, etc.
Materials:
· Venn Diagram & "I can" cards (attached)
· Geometric Figures Manipulatives (or print out of plane & solid figures).
Directions:
1. Distribute copies of the Venn Diagrams and geometric figures to the station members.
2. Have students complete the suggested sorts.
Assessment:
o Have students complete "I can" cards (attached)
o Listen to ensure that students are using the correct vocabulary and are sorting correctly.
Strategies for Differentiation:
o Have students list real-world objects as examples of the different shapes within the sorts.
